For 32 years now, WERSOMA Werkzeug- und Sondereinrichtungsbau GmbH has stood for first-class engineering and tailor-made manufacturing solutions. As a high-performance systems supplier to the automotive and supplier industry, we develop high-precision components, assemblies and innovative hydraulic clamping fixtures for series and mass production.

History
WERSOMA was spun off on 1 January 1994 from the tooling and fixture engineering department (Betriebsmittelbau) of SKL Motoren- und Systemtechnik GmbH – previously part of the “Karl Liebknecht” heavy machinery combine. Four entrepreneurs, including today’s managing director Christoph Gumpert, took the step into self-employment with courage and trust in the capability of their workforce. After the job cuts of the early 1990s, only 24 employees remained at first – a rocky new beginning.
The decisive turning point came with an order from international automotive supplier REGE: the first major customer placed the trust in the young company that it needed to grow. From the very start, WERSOMA relied on a full-service model – design, manufacturing and customer support from a single source – which was still unusual in fixture construction in the 1990s, and which still saves customers the trouble of coordinating several suppliers today.
Today WERSOMA supplies customers across Europe and stands for quality and innovation from a single source – from design through manufacturing to assembly and commissioning.
Management
Christoph Gumpert has been managing director of WERSOMA Werkzeug- und Sondereinrichtungsbau GmbH in Magdeburg since 2005. As a trained toolmaker and experienced design engineer, he has worked through every stage of fixture construction – from apprenticeship to university studies to leading the design department. Following WERSOMA's founding in 1994, he played a major role in transforming the former East German company into an internationally recognised business.
"Courage and competence" – for Christoph Gumpert, these are the two decisive ingredients behind this development. He likes to compare WERSOMA's journey to the transformation of his home city, Magdeburg: from modest beginnings, an internationally recognised name has emerged.
Quality, certified
Our management systems are certified to EN ISO 9001:2015 and EN ISO 14001:2015 by TÜV Austria. They apply to the development, manufacturing and sale of fixtures, tooling and special equipment.
Investing in the future
As part of the EFRE programme (European Regional Development Fund), we have continuously invested in our machinery – including a 5-axis machining centre from DMG and a portal grinding machine from Ziersch. We were also a project partner in the Weiterbildungsverbund Automotive Sachsen-Anhalt (WASA, a regional automotive training network) and have carried out several ESF- and EFRE-funded digitalisation projects, for example on the digital networking of our business units and digital order and sales management.
Regional engagement
Team spirit matters to us beyond the shop floor. As a sponsor of the SBB Baskets, we support basketball in our home region of Saxony-Anhalt – precision and teamwork go hand in hand for us.
